It’s no surprise that we LOVE food so when we were invited to have breakfast at The Real Eating Company Cafe & Kitchen in Bournemouth we jumped at the chance! We hadn’t been to this cafe before (just off the Old Christchurch Road along from Barclays Bank) which was a surprise to me (Kelle) as I absolutely LOVE coffee and spend most of my time trying to plan my working day around being able to stop at local coffee shops, any excuse to have another cappuccino!
As soon as we walked in I absolutely loved the look and feel of this cafe! We felt relaxed and excited to find out more about this beautiful venue. The cages above the counter with a hen in the middle were awesome! I love rustic decors and this was a really nice touch!
We were greeted by the lovely owner, Helena, who told us more about how she started her independent cafe business opening these gorgeous cafe’s in various locations in the South East. It was great to hear someone so passionate about something they have built from scratch and how it has taken a lot of hard work and continuous effort to make it what it is. It was lovely to hear about her experiences as a business owner and she REALLY cares about the customers’ experience while they visit her cafe.
Everything was beautifully presented and it was immaculate inside!
First things first, we ordered a skinny cappuccino, my absolute favourite thing to drink, other than Vodka, lime and soda 😉
It looked amazing, complete with a lovely frothy top (I can’t stand it when I ask for a cappuccino and get what looks like a latte without any froth at all, sorry coffee snob over here!) and a nice sprinkle of chocolate.
It took us a while to decide what to have for breakfast, mainly due to trying to choose the healthiest thing on the menu but actually wanting to eat everything on there too. In the end, we both went for the Half English Breakfast and I’m so glad we did as we would never have finished a full one. The portions sizes were fab! It was great to hear that Helena likes to use good-quality local produce wherever she can and you could definitely taste the quality when eating this lush hearty breakfast.
“We’ve always believed in using good-quality local produce wherever we can, long before it became fashionable. It’s a really important part of our DNA, part of being an independent business, and we believe it’s something that matters to our customers too. We work closely with our small producers to bring what they put so much care and attention into, to a wider audience. We hope that you enjoy it.” – Helena, The Real Eating Company
The sausages were my favourite, tasted great and were really filling. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked and the bread was nice a thick, plus we had the choice of white or brown bread which was a bonus! We also had freshly squeezed orange juice on the table – very refreshing!
The Real Eating Company also offer light snacks, sandwiches, and toasties alongside their breakfast options which are served all day.
It was fantastic to spend the morning chatting to Helena and the Bournemouth Bloggers (especially without any kids to interrupt us every two seconds haha). Thank you so much for the invite and we’ll definitely be back soon for another visit.
We were invited down to The Real Eating Company along with the Bournemouth Bloggers for a complimentary breakfast in exchange for a review. Massive thank you to The Real Eating Company and the Bournemouth Bloggers for the invite. All thoughts and opinions are our own.
